Hubbard, the Georgia part of the FGL, surprised Hayley Stommel with the helicopter ride — when it landed in their backyard — and he proposed to her up in the air while they circled their property. After that, the helicopter took the couple to a private dinner to celebrate.

“This is what a lucky man looks like right here. Not sure why but I sure am blessed to call this angel my fianceé. #loveisintheair #literally,” Hubbard wrote with a photo of his fianceé wearing a diamond ring and holding a glass of bubbly. The two were sitting inside a helicopter, so they’re also wearing headsets in the picture.

Stommel added to the celebratory tweets, saying, “Blessed to call this amazing man my fiancé … 9-22-14 … @thubbmusic #Godgavemeyou #loveisintheair.”

(And by the way, I was wondering why Hubbard’s other musical half was home watching TV last night. “What’s a good tv series that’s out? Tryin to @netflix it tonight w @bcole429,” he tweeted about his downtime with his wife Brittney Marie Cole. But once she heard the big proposal news, she put Netflix on the back burner. “literally have a tear in my eye over @THubbmusic & @hayleystom engagement. Us 4 for life. FAM,” she tweeted.)

Hubbard and Stommel have been together for at least a year, if you scroll through the photos on both of their Instagrams. And they are constantly doing romantic things like hiking up Arizona’s Camelback Mountain and having breakfast in their new nook at Hubbard’s 5,000-square-foot home on 12 acres in Nashville.
