“Rolling Stone’s” 10 Best Country Albums of the Year
Women have released some of the best country albums this year, according to “Rolling Stone”. They occupy the TOP THREE spots on the magazine’s list of the 40 Best Country Albums of 2016. Here’s the Top 10:

Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers, and Alison Krauss are the first confirmed performers at DOLLY PARTON’s“Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund”. More acts will be announced soon. The three-hour concert is Tuesday in Nashville . . . and it’ll air on Great American Country at 8:00 P.M. (ABC)
ALAN JACKSON announced the first set of dates for his Honky Tonk Highway Tour. LEE ANN WOMACK is the opener on select dates . . . and it’ll kickoff January 20th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Details are at AlanJackson.com.
DIERKS BENTLEY and ELLE KING’s “Different for Girls” got a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. That’s a pretty big deal . . . and Dierks gives a lot of credit to Elle for the song’s success. Quote, “The lyrics are strong and her voice [really] takes it to a whole other level.”
MAREN MORRIS is thankful she moved to Nashville when she did . . . because it allowed her to experience all the ups and downs that helped her grow into the artist she is now.
In case you missed it: MIRANDA LAMBERT performed her song “Vice” on yesterday’s edition of “Ellen”.
“Live at The Grand Ole Opry” released video of JOSH TURNER performing “Hometown Girl“. It’s from his performance back in August. The song will be on Josh’s next album. No word on a release date.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD can yodel, but you’re never going to hear her do it. She’s afraid that if everyone KNOWS she can . . . then everywhere she goes people will bug her to do it, and it’ll be way too annoying. (CMT)
