Miranda Lambert Doesn’t Think Singers Should Preach Politics
“Billboard” tried to get MIRANDA LAMBERT to talk politics, and god love her, she wouldn’t go there. But because she’s feisty, she DID explain why.
Quote, “I am a 100% believer in not ever using the platform that I’ve built for anything other than music, because music is an escape from your own reality. I don’t want to go to a show and hear somebody preach about their opinions.”
She is, however, very vocal about her desire to help her fellow female musicians.
Quote, “If I get a door kicked open, I want to hold it open for the girls coming behind me. I’m writing and singing songs that count. I want to do a good job of holding up my end of the deal, which is lifting up other singer-songwriters.”
And this is kind of related. She also promised there’s going to be a new PISTOL ANNIES record sometime next year.
Brett Young Likes Writing Music on the Bus, His Celebrity Crush is Channing Tatum, and His Favorite Late Night Snack is Whiskey
Taste of Country asked BRETT YOUNG a series of rapid-fire questions, and we learned a few interesting things. His favorite song to perform is “Sleep Without You”, and his favorite place to write music is on the bus.
Asked what he likes to do when he’s not working, he said, quote, “Baseball. I like to throw the baseball.” And if he wasn’t a country singer he’d be a baseball coach.
His advice for aspiring musicians is that they better be driven. Quote, “If music’s the ONLY thing that will ever make you happy, then do music. If anything else will make you happy, then do anything else.”
And then came the silly questions. His favorite celebrity crush? Quote, “Don’t get weird with me, but I think it’s Channing Tatum.” His favorite breakfast cereal AND late night snack are both whiskey.
He was asked if he’s ever been in a cop car, and he said, quote, “Only to do a ride-along, never as a suspect.”
