Toby Keith Will Never “Whine” / Jana Kramer’s ‘Last Song’

Jana Kramer’s New Album Has a Song About Her “Unhealthy” Relationship with Brantley Gilbert

It was a little over a year ago that JANA KRAMER said her relationship with BRANTLEY GILBERT was “unhealthy.”  And time hasn’t changed her opinion.

Someone asked if any songs on her new album, “Thirty-One”, are about unhealthy past relationships.  She said, quote, “100%.  People in my past are on this album because that’s how I feel I can grow.  Music for me is therapy.

“When I wrote [the track] ‘Last Song’, my last relationship was past and so I wrote about that experience because I wanted people to go deeper with me on that level and feel the pain that I went through and the hurt and all that.

“People can relate to that because we’ve all had our heart broken.”

Toby Keith Will Never “Whine” About Younger Artists

It’s very sad when artists that have been around a while start badmouthing the “new kids.”  It makes them sound old and desperate.  Well, TOBY KEITH promised himself that he would never go there.

Quote, “I heard the guys whining years ago when I was coming up.  There were people saying my generation wasn’t country enough, and I was like, ‘Man I never want to be that guy.'”

In a different interview, Toby discussed how he comes up with each album’s theme.  Quote, “I write something every day.  I’ll have some little thought that I’ll record in my phone.  I’ll add a little melody to it, and I’ll say my thought.

“At the end of the year when I go into record, everybody always wants to know the big theme behind what this album is.  And there’s no mystery to it.  It’s the best stuff that I wrote last year, and that’s it.”

BRANTLEY GILBERT recently talked about how special One Hell Of An Amen is to him.  Quote, “This one’s so personal to me.  It’s really close to my heart.  I feel like it had a lot to say, I feel like it did a lot of healing and a lot of helping.”
