A woman in Waco got to live everyone’s nightmare of becoming trapped inside a bathroom stall over the weekend.
The elderly woman spent 36 hours trapped in the West Waco Library bathroom stall. She visited the library that night and decided to use the restroom before leaving at closing time. Unfortunately, she got stuck for the rest of the weekend. The library was locked, closed with no one to check and make sure the restrooms were empty.
City spokesman Larry Holze told the Waco Tribune-Herald that employees are required to make sure the library is empty before locking up at 6 p.m. Saturday but did not check the bathrooms that evening. The woman was found around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
The woman did not have a cell phone and had no way of getting in contact with others to help her get out. They have not released why she was unable to get out of the restroom stall, but she was in good health when they found her Monday morning.
