Shania Twain Announces New Album Release Date

Steve Earle Says Only the Women In Nashville Are Making Good Music

If you ask STEVE EARLE a question about today’s country music, you can bet he’s going to tell you what he hates about it.  The “Guardian” probably knew that going in, which may be why they asked that very question.

Here’s his answer.  Quote, “The best stuff coming out of Nashville is all by women except for CHRIS STAPLETON.  He’s great.

“The guys just wanna sing about getting [effed up].  They’re just doing hip-hop for people who are afraid of black people.  I like the new Kendrick Lamar record, so I’ll just listen to that.”

He’s basically saying that artists like Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line are somehow lesser acts because they incorporate rap and hip-hop into their music.  But that argument is so tired.  And not true.

Ask Sam or FGL and they’ll tell you they grew up listening to all kinds of music and it all worked its way into their songwriting.  Nobody lives in a vacuum.  If you want to get technical, all of today’s music is derivative, and that includes Steve Earle’s.

Anyway, at least he’s backing up his claim about the female country artists.  His new album So You Wannabe An Outlaw” drops tomorrow, and it features a duet with MIRANDA LAMBERT on the track This Is How It Ends.

Chris Janson Considers Fatherhood To Be An Honor And a Privilege

I guarantee you CHRIS JANSON is going to have an awesome Father’s Day . . . and it has nothing to do with the gifts he’ll be getting.  He loves being a dad so much that spending the day with his kids is all he needs.

Quote, “It’s the greatest honor, it’s the greatest privilege.  I’m just really proud to be a dad, and that’s not just one day a year, it’s every day of the year.”

Chris has four kids . . . two with his wife Kelly Lynn, and two bonus kids from her previous marriage.

Lindsay Ell’s Song “Waiting On You” Will Tell You Everything You Need to Know About Her

If you’re not familiar with LINDSAY ELL’s music, well, she knows exactly in what direction to steer you.  Quote, “If I was given three minutes for somebody who’s never heard any of my music before, I’d want them to hear ‘Waiting On You’.

“It’s a little bit of blues, a little bit of a rock, and it’s a LOT of country, and yet it represents so many things that I’ve felt in my life . . . in my personal life and in my career.”  (You can check it out, here.)

HANIA TWAIN hit up Twitter to confirm that her new album, “Shania Now”, is coming out September 29th.  Also, starting tomorrow you’ll be able to stream or download her new single “Life’s About to Get Good”.  (ABC)

LADY ANTEBELLUM found an interesting way to hype their album “Heart Break”.  They released a mini-movie that matches up a clip of each song with a different scene in the film.  It takes place in a hotel, so they titled it “Heart Break Hotel”.  Hey, I give ’em an “A” for effort.  (Video)

ELI YOUNG BAND’s Never Land video goes back and forth between scenes of the band performing in front of train tracks . . . and attractive actors falling in love, and stuff like that.  The song is on their album “Fingerprints”, which drops tomorrow.

SARA EVANS is very excited about her new single, Marquee Sign.  First of all, because it’s awesome, but also because it features guest vocals from her daughter Olivia Evans.  It’s one of the songs on her album “Words”, which will be out July 21st.
