Thomas Rhett to Team Up With Fall Out Boy at 2015 CMA Awards

The 2015 CMA Awards will be rockin’, thanks to Thomas Rhett and Fall Out Boy.

The country singer and the pop-punk band will team up for a performance during Country Music’s Biggest Night. The Country Music Association reveals that it will be a “special collaboration,” although there is no word on if the song they’ll be performing is one of Rhett’s tunes, something unreleased or a mashup of the two artists’ material.

Rhett is nominated for New Artist of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards; a complete list of nominees is available here. The singer-songwriter recently released his sophomore album, Tangled Up.

On Monday (Oct. 5), Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr. were revealed as the first two performers for the 2015 CMA Awards. They will open the show with a performance “Are You Ready for the Country,” which will be released as Williams Jr.’s first song on Nash Icon.

The 2015 CMA Awards are scheduled to air live from Nashville on Nov. 4 at 8PM ET on ABC. For the eighth year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have been named as the hosts, and they will each be performing as well.

Brett Eldredge Has a Wig-Wearing Alter Ego Named Xander

I’m thinkingBRETT ELDREDGE may have a wig fetish.  But not in a creepy way.  He just thinks they’re hilarious.  He says, quote, “Wigs are the funniest thing, no matter who you are.

“You throw a wig on somebody and you’ll laugh your ass off all the time.  I got my dad to put a wig on and go into the crowd with me.”  Brett even has a wig-wearing alter ego named Xander who likes to mingle with the fans.

Quote, “Xander has hippie hair and doesn’t look anything like me when I put the wig on.  I just keep moving really fast.  I’ll drink a beer with the fans and then I’ll run.”  You can check out photos of Xander and his wig at People.com.

What Happened When Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn Got Drunk in Italy?

Have you ever heard of a super strong Italian brandy called grappa?  REBA MCENTIRE and RONNIE DUNN have, and they were kind enough, or perhaps wasted enough, to show how happy it made them.

They were at a restaurant in Rome, yes in Italy, when someone opened a bottle.

Next thing you know Reba’s singing the ELVIS classic “Now Or Never”.

Ronnie explains, quote, “There was a whole table of young students from L.A. behind us.  They broke out a great big bottle of grappa . . . it was huge . . . and we were passing that around and before I know it, Reba was standing up singing.

“I’m thinking, ‘Oh no, we’re going to get booted out of here.’  Instead she gets an ovation.  The Italians are a blast like that, they’re so much about having fun and just going with it.”

You can check out the video at People.com.

MIRANDA LAMBERT was honored with a star on the Music City Walk of Fame on Tuesday, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.  She said, quote, “I just feel really ingrained in Nashville right now.  Like I feel, really, part of it . . . so this solidifies everything I’ve been feeling just being here the last couple of months.”

ALAN JACKSON will be releasing a three-disc box set on November 6th.  It’s called “Genuine:  The Alan Jackson Story” and it’s a mixture of hits, plus eight previously unreleased recordings . . . and it’s only available at Walmart.  You can get details at AlanJackson.com.

BILLY JOE ROYAL passed away on Tuesday at the age of 73.  He had six Top Ten country hits between 1985 and 1989 . . . but most people know him from his 1965 crossover smash Down in the Boondocks.  (Tennessean)
