The Pistol Annies Reunite in Augusta, Ga. [WATCH]
Fans at Miranda Lambert‘s 2015 Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour stop in Augusta, Ga., on Friday night (Oct. 2) got quite the surprise: a Pistol Annies reunion!
Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley joined together onstage during the show, and although Monroe is a regular part of the Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour, Presley’s appearance — and the trio’s reunion itself — was definitely a surprise. The clip above, one of many that appeared on social media after the show, shows the three artists dancing and laughing together in the middle of a song.
Lambert, Monroe and Presley released their debut album as the Pistol Annies, Hell on Heels, in 2011, and their sophomore disc, Annie Up, in 2013. In June of 2013, however, the trio abruptly canceled all of their upcoming concerts, and rumors of a breakup began swirling.
All three artists have released solo projects in the two-plus years since, and they have also denied the rumors of tension among them.
“It’s funny how people just make up things, even after you tell what happened,” Monroe says. “It is what we said it was: We didn’t have time to rehearse for the tour, and we wanted to be our best. And it’s really as simple as that, but it’s entertaining to read all the different views. All the soap opera stories people can make up!”
Says Presley, “We’ve decided at some point we’ll be Pistol Grannies together, but we just had to make a choice and decide. When Ashley and I didn’t have that much going on, it was easy to coordinate our schedules. We just had to take a little break, but never say never.”

Grand Ole Opry Celebrates 90th Anniversary With ‘Family Album’
The country music community is celebrating 90 years since the beginning of the Grand Ole Opry, and in honor of the anniversary, the Opry has released a special memento.
Out now, the Grand Ole Opry 90th Anniversary Family Album celebrates nine decades of memorable moments on the Opry stage. The special edition of the book has been released in hardcover and features copies of items from many of the Opry’s most historic moments: the invitation to Keith Urban‘s Opry induction; a letter thanking Minnie Pearl for her hospitality from then-vice president George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush; and the dedication that Brad Paisley penned for Little Jimmy Dickens. The book also includes over 400 photos from the Opry’s archives, highlighting decades of country music history.
In addition to photos and memorabilia, the book holds stories from the country music genre’s past, including the day Johnny Cash and June Carter met at the Ryman Auditorium; Dolly Parton‘s serenade to Porter Wagoner; and the Opry visits of some of the biggest names in world history, from President Richard Nixon to the Byrds to Kevin Costner. Grand Ole Opry 90th Anniversary Family Album also highlights current members of the Opry, including Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks and others.
Grand Ole Opry 90th Anniversary Family Album is currently available at Opry.com.
The Grand Ole Opry has been celebrating its 90th birthday with numerous events throughout 2015, including a 90th Birthday Bash (that was held)on Oct. 2 and 3.

Nelly Is Not Recording a Country EP, Because He Respects the Genre Too Much
We know NELLY as the rapper from TIM MCGRAW’s “Over And Over“ . . . and FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’s remix of “Cruise“. So it wasn’t a surprise earlier this year when we heard he was planning to record a country EP.
Well, that’s not exactly right. He tells “Rolling Stone”, quote, “It got twisted. I respect country music so much that I would never think I could sit down and do a country album. That’s like a country artist saying, ‘Hell, I’m just gonna do a rap album.'”
He also cleared it up with “Entertainment Weekly”. Quote, “We talked about doing an EP to cross all boundaries. I love country music. I respect it to the utmost. But there’s nothing in the world that makes me think I can do a country album.
“What I think I can do is something that can [cross over] and fulfill different formats of music, country being one of them. I may do an EP that features more than one country artist, so it may have a different vibe, but not a country album.”
