Brandy Clark Says Female Country Artists Are Ready to Dominate
“Rolling Stone” asked BRANDY CLARK why male artists have been dominating the country charts. She believes it’s a phase, and that it’s about to end. Quote, “From what I’m seeing, KELSEA [BALLERINI] and CAMboth had Number One records.
“It’s changing, and I think so much of that is just cyclical. A huge era in country music that I’m heavily influenced by is the early- to mid-Nineties. Females were so popular then, and I feel like that’s what we’re heading towards.”

Dierks Bentley Hosts the ACMs Naked in Their Latest Promo
DIERKS BENTLEY is pulling out all the stops to get you to watch him cohost the ACMs with LUKE BRYAN. In the latest promo he has a dream where he shows up naked on stage. Well, except for his boots. The naughty bits are covered.
He opens the show and then cracks a few jokes as the camera cuts to old clips of country stars in the audience “reacting” to the stuff he’s saying. Some of the stars include Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, and Miranda Lambert.
(Here’s the link. He says “kick my ass” at 0:38. I did laugh a little at the 1:12 mark when he bends over to pick something up.)
CARRIE UNDERWOOD was in Nashville on Monday to help honor her husband MIKE FISHER, who played in his 1,000th NHL game. She was also in a video tribute that featured props from his dad, NHL dudes, plus several very famous people.
(Here’s the link to the video. It starts with Carrie. Brad Paisley shows up at 0:57, and then Bono, yes Bono, at 1:17. After that you’ll find Dierks Bentley at 1:35, Luke Bryan at 5:42, Vince Gill at 7:03, and Rascal Flatts at 7:29.)

“Beautiful Drug” is ZBB’s 13th song to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making the band the country group with the most career No. 1 singles. It is also the fourth No. 1 single from Jekyll + Hyde, following “Homegrown,” “Heavy Is the Head” and “Loving You Easy.” When it was released in April, Jekyll + Hyde debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, and at No. 1 on the country albums chart as well.
