Global Language Monitor’s Word of the Year Is…

The Heart Emoji?

Global Language Monitor just announced their pick for 2014’s word of the year, and in a brilliant sign of the times, they didn’t pick an actual word . . . they picked the heart emoji.  They say it represents how English is evolving to include emoji and emoticons.

I this a sign of us DEVOLVING back to caveman days with hieroglyphics?! Of all the words that became popular and had great meaning in 2014, we’re going with an emoji?! – Drake
