First Round of CMA Performers Announced

Meghan Linsey Was Sexually Assaulted by a Powerful Man in the Music Business . . . and Then Advised Not to Say Anything

MEGHAN LINSEY wrote an eye-opening post on Facebook about being sexually assaulted by a music industry big shot.  This was in 2010 while she was touring with STEEL MAGNOLIA.

When she told her people what happened they warned her to keep quiet . . . because the guy could ruin her career.

She held it in until Monday’s debate when DONALD TRUMP tried to defend his derogatory comments about women in that leaked conversation with BILLY BUSH.

Here’s some of what she wrote:  Quote, “As much as I have tried to not talk about the election the last few days, I feel like this is important enough to share.  To anyone defending Trump’s disgusting comments about women . . .

“A very powerful man in the music business grabbed up my skirt.  He groped me and [tried] to pick me up by my ass on a bus in front of a lot of important people.  I was mortified and told him.  It caused a scene and he was embarrassed and angry.”

The man came back the next night and threatened to throw her into the middle of the ocean where no one would ever hear from her again.  And then he laughed and walked away.

What set her off was Trump blaming it on locker room talk.  Quote, “Because at the end of the day, it’s NOT just talk.  This is rape culture, where powerful men sexually assault women and get away with it because of who they are.

“[His] comments made me feel like I wanted to vomit, because it reminded me of the many times I’ve been compromised as a woman.”

She closed out the post by saying anyone who would defend his comments should unfriend her.  She doesn’t want a president who perpetuates rape culture . . . and real men don’t talk like that.

Carrie Underwood Is Disappointing Off Stage . . . And She’s Probably Going to Have Another Kid

You know the confident, kickass CARRIE UNDERWOOD you see on stage?  Well, she’s way different than that in real life.  She tells “Redbook” that the everyday version of her is incredibly disappointing to people.

Quote, “If I run into someone at the grocery store, I really don’t know what to say because I don’t have a microphone in my hand or bling on.  They expect me to be ‘Carrie Underwood,’ but I’m just Carrie.  I’m sorry.”

And then there’s the mom version of Carrie.  No disappointment there.  In fact, she’s ready to try for baby number two because her husband MIKE FISHER is getting close to retiring from the NHL . . . and that means he can be a stay-at-home dad.

Want to Show Your Appreciation to Dierks Bentley? Give Him Duct Tape

Headliners usually give their opening acts a little something when the tour is over.  DIERKS BENTLEY didn’t know what to give TUCKER BEATHARD after their summer dates together, so he asked for some ideas.

But Tucker was so thankful for the job he flipped the script and asked Dierks what HE wanted.  Turns out he wanted a six-pack of Busch Light and a roll of duct tape.  So, Tucker delivered . . . no questions asked.

Eric Church, Maren Morris, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban are the first round of performers announced for next month’s CMAs.  The show is November 2nd on ABC.

LUKE BRYAN signed a young girl’s cast at his show on Saturday.  And then let her sign his.

(Careful:  There’s a lot of crowd noise that could be hiding profanities.  Here’s video.)

Luke also posted an x-ray of his shoulder after Sunday’s surgery.  He captioned it, “All good.  Got me some metal.”
