Jason Aldean Thinks Today’s Female Country Singers Sound Too Similar
“The Washington Post” asked JASON ALDEAN why there aren’t more successful female country singers, and he gave an answer that he knew would get him in trouble . . . but he let it fly anyway.
Quote, “A lot of times female singers, to me, when they’re singing . . . and I’ll probably kick myself for saying this . . . it just seems like I can’t distinguish one from the other if I just listen to them. A lot of times they just sound really similar to me.”
He walked it back a little by giving props to a couple of the bigger stars. Quote, “And then you have some likeCARRIE [UNDERWOOD] or MIRANDA [LAMBERT] or somebody like that, that really has a different, distinctive sound to their voice.
“Then it’s like, oh, okay, you can tell them apart all of a sudden. They go on to be obviously big stars . . . but I think it’s because you can distinguish between them.”
Brad Paisley Will Be Ripping on Ashley Madison, Miley Cyrus, and the “Outbreak” of Country Divorces at the CMAs
BRAD PAISLEY told “Access Hollywood” that he and CARRIE UNDERWOOD will definitely be doing jokes about the “summer of divorce” when they host the CMAs.
Quote, “BLAKE [SHELTON] and MIRANDA [LAMBERT] got a divorce and in our format it’s a big deal because they’re two of the biggest artists. And that was such a bummer. I’m friends with them, good friends with Blake.
“And so I was like, that’s a bummer. Then REBA [MCENTIRE] gets a divorce like right away, right after it, and then JAKE OWEN gets a divorce. And by the third one, I’m like, cool . . . now it’s an outbreak.”
You’ll also be hearing them cover politics, the Ashley Madison leak, and the gift that is MILEY CYRUS hosting this year’s “VMAs”. He adds, quote, “Thank you, Miley. She should host an awards show every year before we do.”
First Clip of Hank Williams Biopic ‘I Saw the Light’ Revealed [WATCH]
A clip of the highly anticipated Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light has been released, showing off Tom Hiddleston‘s singing chops.
Hiddleston, who plays Williams in the film, revealed the clip on Twitter, saying that it gave him “great pleasure” to debut the first footage. In the clip, Williams and his band are at Castle Recording Studio in April of 1947, recording “Move It on Over” — the singer’s first-ever country hit.
“I’ve already started singing and playing every day,” Hiddleston revealed to the Daily Mail back in June of 2014. “Hank’s life has a tragic arc, but in simple truth, he was a genius: a star that burned twice as bright and lived half as long. It’s a huge role for me and a huge responsibility. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”
Although Hank Williams III objects to Hiddleston being cast as the lead, fans who saw him perform at a festival in September of 2014 could see that he looked and sounded the part, and this new clip solidifies that fact.
I Saw the Light will premiere on Nov. 27. It chronicles Williams’ rise to fame and its tragic effect on his health and personal life. The film is based on Colin Escott’s award-winning biography of the singer.

Toby Keith helped Stephen Colbert celebrate the first week of his new Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday night (Sept. 10) by debuting a brand-new song, “Rum Is the Reason.”
The new track, infused with island sounds, will appear on Keith’s upcoming 35 MPH Town, which is set for release on Oct. 9. In the tropical tune, Keith sings, “While Russia was brawlin’ / I think that old Stalin was callin’ for a vodka martini / While the world hid in fear, ol’ Hitler drank beer from a stein / Eating sauerkraut and wienies …
“I ain’t gettin’ much done, but I’m havin’ fun / Sailing on the deep blue sea / My whole body goes numb from a bottle of dark rum / And the sun sinkin’ down on me / Yeah, my catch of the day is tall Cuba libra …” he continues in the chorus. “Rum is the reason pirates never ruled the world.”
