Dierks Celebrates 10 Years in The Opry

Why Was Keith Urban Afraid to Tell John Mellencamp That He Recorded “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”?

You may know that JOHN MELLENCAMP pretty much hates that he used to be known as “John Cougar.”  It was a name given to him by a manager before he was famous.  (An even earlier version was “Johnny Cougar.”)

So KEITH URBAN was actually afraid to tell him that he recorded “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”.

Keith said, quote, “I did a charity event with [him] for Red Nose Day . . . and I had just cut that song but I didn’t tell him about it because he’s got mixed feelings about the John Cougar handle.

“But in the context of this song I think he’d understand that it’s of the time when he was John Cougar, and that’s the point of it.  Besides, Mellencamp has too many syllables.”

The Coroner Won’t Rule On the Death of Eddie Montgomery’s Son Until He Gets the Toxicology Results

Apparently, there’ve been rumors that EDDIE MONTGOMERY’s son Hunter died of a drug overdose . . . so People.com tried to clear that up.  They talked to the coroner, who told them, quote, “We didn’t say drugs were suspected. We’re waiting for toxicology reports before we make a determination.”

It’ll take about three weeks before those reports come in.

Meanwhile, Eddie posted a message on the MONTGOMERY GENTRY Facebook page thanking everyone for their love and support.  There are also details about a special fund for those wishing to make a donation in Hunter’s name.

Dierks Bentley’s Dog Jake Helped Him Celebrate 10 Years in the Grand Ole Opry

DIERKS BENTLEY celebrated his 10th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday.  And just like when he was inducted a decade ago, his dog Jake was at his side.

He said, quote, “He was here with me 10 years ago.  I was driving away this afternoon and I thought, ‘I’ve got to bring Jake back out.'”
