Kip Moore’s “Magic” Didn’t Start Out As a Love Song
EntertainmentWeekly.com is previewing KIP MOORE’s new song “Magic“. It’s a love song that didn’t start out that way when he began writing it.
He says, quote, “I kind of got to thinking about the way love is constantly described on the radio as this fairytale and how that just isn’t real. I’ve never really believed anybody who’s singing about that stuff.”
But even cynics fall in love, right? The deeper he got into it, the more he realized he could take it in a different direction: Quote “We spun it to where I’m finally feeling it, that magic, and wanting to believe it’s real, and not slip away.”
In a different interview Kip was asked if he has a favorite country love song. He does. It’s the MERLE HAGGARD – JANIE FRICKE 1984 classic, “A Place To Fall Apart“.
Hillary Scott Found Inspiration at a Justin Timberlake Show . . . And She Prefers Doing Her Own Concert Makeup
You might think the big country stars have seen it all. And maybe they have. But they still get blown away once in a while. HILLARY SCOTT of LADY ANTEBELLUM was asked about the last time a performer impressed her.
She said, quote, “I saw JUSTIN TIMERLAKE’s last tour two different times and walked away really inspired. [And] I’ll never forget seeing THE EAGLES. They had a minimalistic approach to the production and the songs were allowed to shine.”
Another impressive thing about Hillary is that she’s no diva. She actually prefers doing her own concert makeup. Quote, “It’s something I’ve always done and it’s honestly a way for me to kind of relax before the adrenaline rush of the show.
“It’s one of those things where just between sticking really tight to a budget that I want to stay on for my life and for my career, and also just enjoying it. [For] TV and awards shows I don’t do my makeup. But, for touring it’s just me.”
Taste of Country readers voted REBA MCENTIRE’s “Going Out Like That” as this year’s Best Song of the Summer. “I Love This Life” by LOCASH came in second.
