SCOTTY MCCREERY is heading into the studio this month to record his next album . . . and he already knows how he wants it to sound.
He tells “Rolling Stone”, quote, “I’m going to make a country music record. The stuff I grew up with was that kind of music. I want it to have some depth and portray a different side.”
He’s also looking forward to writing a lot of the music. He says, quote, “I love songwriting, it’s a way to explore what’s going on upstairs.” He won’t be writing the whole thing alone, though.
He’s been hanging with some of the veteran songwriters on Music Row, and is bringing them in to co-write. He says, quote, “These writers are the world’s best, and I just try to pick up little things they do. Most of the time, it starts with a guitar.”
What he’s NOT concerned with is churning out hits. He adds, quote, “We’re not looking for a quick single.”
Yesterday, we saw a video of the “kid chorus” at New York City’s PS22 perform GARTH BROOKS’ “People Loving People”. Well, today we have a group of kids from the other side of the world giving their take on the song.
They’re from the “Jacaranda School for Orphans in Malawi” and they posted a Facebook video of them singing . . . and dancing. (Malawi’s in the southeastern part of Africa.)
[Kids Singin Garth]They also thanked Garth for the song, writing, “Our dream is that people around the world share this message of love, friendship, and peace. Our orphan children know how important receiving and giving love is. With love, anything is possible.”
Garth was honored with the sentiment. He shared their post and added, “I believe ‘love’ is a universal language. I also believe ‘music’ is a universal language. These children are fluent in both. So sweet. God bless us all . . . love, Garth.”
TIM MCGRAW and FAITH HILL have sold part of the Tennessee ranch they’ve had on the market for a year. Somebody shelled out $3 million for 131 acres of the farmland. Tim and Faith are still trying to unload the remaining 621 acres for a very reasonable $18.5 million.
OLD DOMINION found a brilliant way to get some eyes on the video to their song “Shut Me Up”. They convinced WHITNEY DUNCAN to put on shorts and boots and goof around while they play. She even gets behind the drums and pounds the skins at one point.
