JOHN CARTER CASH, the only child of JOHNNY and JUNE CARTER CASH, was arrested for disturbing the peace and being drunk in public on Monday . . . after stripping down to his underwear at an airport in Canada. But no charges were filed because he was co-operative and has no criminal record.
It’s hard to imagine SAM HUNT feeling timid about anything. I mean, he was THE target opponents wanted to punish when he was a quarterback at the University of Alabama – Birmingham, and briefly with the Kansas City Chiefs. And then he decided to be a country singer. He tells “Billboard”, quote, “When I moved to Nashville, I absolutely came with my hat in my hand thinking I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, thinking that I didn’t belong in this music world.” He stuck with it until he felt like he DID belong: Quote, “It took a while but I finally realized that I had that gene all along. That’s when I really started having success and I started to feel more natural and things started moving a lot faster.” Sam has yet to write a song about football, but that could change. He says, quote, “For a while I avoided it, not that I wasn’t proud of playing football and all. “I didn’t want to be the college quarterback who wants to go play guitar, [but] I may write about those experiences at some point. I just haven’t really connected those experiences to the music enough to emotionally tap into a song like that.”
If there’s a “brass ring” in country music, it’s winning Entertainer of the Year. It’s definitely at the top of LUKE BRYAN’S wish list. He says, quote, “Well, it would certainly be a defining moment in my career.
“I have always pressed myself very hard to entertain people and make them smile and make them leave their world . . . and make them feel like, ‘Gosh, that was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. It was well worth the money.'”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD got some love from her home state last Saturday when the Oklahoma State University marching band performed “Cowboy Casanova” and “Before He Cheats” at halftime. They also went into formation to spell out “C. Underwood.”
