CMA Country Christmas Tonight

Miranda Lambert Doesn’t Want You to Pick Sides Between Her and Blake Shelton

More of MIRANDA LAMBERT’s “Cosmo” interview has been released, and one of the more interesting things she said is how she doesn’t want people hating on BLAKE SHELTON . . . or her.

She said, quote, “We are real people with real lives and real [crap].  We’re both very honest.  This is what it is now, and we’re moving forward.  We don’t need all the opinions.

“We just need y’all to be supportive, and nobody pick a side . . . because there ain’t a side.”

She also revealed a tasty detail about herself that’s going to make you look at her in an entirely different way the next time you see her perform.  Quote, “I feel the sexiest when I’m in my element, which is playing music.

“It doesn’t really matter what I’m wearing necessarily or where I’m at, just on stage with my band playing music is sort of where I feel like I belong and that makes me feel sexy.”

Kenny Rogers Retired Because He Can’t Compete with “New Country”

When KENNY ROGERS announced his retirement in September he said it was because he wanted to spend more time with his family.  But in an interview with “Variety” he also admits it’s because he’s feeling out of touch.

He says, quote, “Country is very healthy right now . . . they’re bringing in a lot of kids.  But it’s not a type of music that I prefer or that I would want to do, and that’s why I’m getting out.

“It might be a terrible thing to say, but I feel like I’ve done everything I set out to do.  I don’t really have any challenges unless I want to go out and compete with new country, and I don’t have any desire to do that.”

Props to Kenny for realizing he’s not feeling it anymore.  He’s 77 years old and it could turn out real bad if he tried to fake his way into extending his career.  By the way, when he says he’s done it all, he means it.

His career started in the 1950s, he’s sold over 120 million records, and is the eighth bestselling male artist of all time.  He’s been a TV star, a movie star . . . I mean, he’s “The Gambler” for crying’ out loud . . . so whatever works for him.

KEITH URBAN recently talked about how difficult it was for him to break into Nashville’s music scene.  Quote, “It’s good for kids to know that sometimes it doesn’t happen quickly.  You just keep going.  They call it a five-year town.  I think it took a little longer than that for me.”

KIP MOORE announced the second leg of his “Wild Ones” tour.  It picks up January 28th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . . . and wraps February 27th in Anaheim, California.  Chase Bryant and The Cadillac Three are opening select dates.  Hit up KipMoore.net for details.

BRETT ELDREDGE would love a chance to cohost a show with THOMAS RHETT . . . because they have a “natural banter” and they get each other’s humor.

ZAC BROWN uses the song “Beautiful Drug” as a barometer to know what kind of crowd he’s dealing with.  Quote, “We watch how the audience reacts to it and hear how loud it is, [and] that tells us what works.”

“CMA Country Christmas” at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.  Jennifer Nettles is your host and the performers include Mickey Guyton, Darius Rucker, Jewel, Pentatonix, Thomas Rhett, Martina McBride, Brett Eldredge, and Kelsea Ballerini.
