THESE ARE MY KIND OF PEOPLE.
The city of Boerne, TX is hosting a 0.5K for all the underachievers out there.
They’re hosting this race to raise money for a local charity called Blessings in a Backpack on May 5. They’re calling it “The running event for the rest of us,” and, according to the event’s website, the run should only take about 10 minutes to complete. (Actually, this may still be too long for me.)
There are so many perks in competing in this run. They’re rewarding runners with BEER before and after the event. Oh and a donut and coffee station!!! Runners also receive a T-shirt, a shiny sticker, a finish line photo, and a medal!
I forgot to mention…you can get all those things without running too. Their VIP option just has you donate $50…no running necessary and you will be provided with a shuttle bus, some beer, and even a bigger medal to make the peasant runners jealous.
Unfortunately, their sign up reached capacity BUT now you can pretend like you participated. For a limited time, for $25 you too can pretend like you participated in the race. You’ll get a t-shirt, the participation medal and the super pretentious oval 0.5k bumper sticker. To order just visit their race store here.
And if for some silly reason you really want to participate, think of it this way. Now you have a whole year to train for the 0.5K race!
