Chuck Wicks Fractured His Skull and Vertebrae in Monday’s Car Accident
CHUCK WICKS survived a serious car accident Monday night. He fractured his skull and a cervical vertebrae. He’s doing okay, which is great, because the doctors told him he’s lucky to be alive and not paralyzed.
As you may know, in addition to being a singer, he’s also one-third of the Ty, Kelly and Chuck radio show. They were on the way to New Orleans to be grand marshals at a Mardi Gras parade. Their producer was also in the car.
They were driving through some serious rain when they hit a puddle of water that caused the car to hydroplane and rollover twice. It was so bent up they had to crawl out. Everyone was sent to the hospital and eventually released, except Chuck.
He was still there as of last night, but he expects to be released soon. He’ll be in a neck brace for about three months.
He posted an update yesterday on Facebook describing what went down . . . and included a photo of the smashed car, and two pics of himself in the hospital wearing the brace.
Sturgill Simpson Has Joined the Battle Against Ticket Scalpers
STURGILL SIMPSON has joined the fight to stop ticket scalpers from ripping people off. He’s kind of following Eric Church’s blueprint by cancelling tickets purchased by bots, and putting them back up for sale at normal price.
So, anyone who bought tickets through the secondary market to one of his shows may be very disappointed. He’s also working on an “experimental ticketing system” that’ll prevent the scalpers from hoarding all the tickets. That’s a plan we’d all like to see.
He talked about all of this on Facebook, and voiced a little anger while he was at it.
Quote, “It infuriates me to see people being shut out from the opportunity to come to our show for a price I designate. I know exactly who I work for and my tickets will always be affordable and no amount of trophies in the world will ever change that.”
He’d appreciate some help from the fans too. Quote, “The only way to put a stop to this is for people to stop buying tickets from scalpers, or to make so much noise it forces politicians to stop taking money from lobbyists that pay them fat stacks of coin to keep online scalping legal.”
CARRIE UNDERWOOD’s Nashville house got damaged in the storm that recently passed through the area. Here’s what she wrote yesterday on Twitter, “Woke up to tornado sirens and hail. Our chimney is currently in our driveway . . . tree limbs everywhere. Feels like home. #Okie”
This is now my favorite sales celebration of all time. The guys in OLD DOMINION got gold glitter beards in honor of “Meat and Candy” going, you guessed it, Gold. They posted a closeup photo with a clear view of their cold flecks . . . AND they even did a video where they’re shaking their gold beards back and forth.
There’s a lot of drinking, some serious fighting, and a little hurt feelings in JASON ALDEAN’s “Any Ol’ Barstool“ video.
