Keith Urban Talks About Losing His Father

Blake Shelton Would Like His 2016 To Be “Calm, Plain, and Out-Of-The-Media”

Sometimes famous people say stuff off the top of their heads that I don’t think they really mean.  I believe that’s what happened when BLAKE SHELTON was asked what he wants his 2016 to be.

He said, quote, “Calm.  I’d like to have a good, middle-of-the-road, vanilla, plain, fade-away, out-of-the-media-spotlight year.  That would be awesome.”

Anyway, in a different interview, Blake said he’s been putting his life experiences into his music.  Quote, “I’m doing what I know I’m supposed to do as a country artist and taking all of that experience that I’ve had this year and putting it into music.

“I’ve never been really good at that before.  [I’m] taking my life and putting it into music and I’ve never felt more connected to a record.”

Chris Stapleton Hopes You’ll Listen to Every Song On His Album

CHRIS STAPLETON came up big with four Grammy nominations on the strength of his song “Traveller” . . . and album of the same name.  But if it were up to him, you’d listen to every single song on that record.

He says, quote, “I didn’t grow up in an age where we bought singles, or one piece of an album.  I grew up on albums.  I hope people get [my] whole album and take the time to listen to it . . . [because] music is meant to be enjoyed in that way.

“And I hope folks can find it in their hearts to do that with this record because it’s how it was meant to be used.  And if they come watch me play some of [it] live that would be great.”

Keith Urban Reflects on the Song He Wrote for His Dad Who Passed Away on Saturday

KEITH URBAN’s father passed away on Saturday, and he posted a statement on his website thanking fans for their “outpouring of love.”  He recently talked about a song he wrote in his honor called Song for Dad, which is on his “Golden Road” album.

Quote, “I wanted to write a song to say thanks.  My love for American country music, cars, culture . . . all that was inherited from him [and] I love that it did because it set me on my path.”

CMT.com gathered “14 Twitter Reactions From Country’s Grammy Nominees.”  It includes posts from Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town, Cam, Blake Shelton, and Ashley Monroe.

GRANGER SMITH loves big elk hunts . . . and he loves bird hunting.  But his favorite is whitetail deer.  Quote, “It’s what I grew up on.  We have a place in central Texas where mom and dad live.  And it reminds me of being a kid.  I think whitetail is the most fun.”

I know you don’t need another reason to believe country music is bigger than ever, but here’s one anyway.  For the first time in history, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has welcomed one million visitors in a calendar year.  (Full Story)
