Sam Hunt Is Never Going to Leave Country for Pop

SAM HUNT has to be way over people asking him if his music is too pop-oriented. “Entertainment Weekly” took it a step further and asked if he sees himself eventually leaving country all together.

He said, quote, “I don’t have any intention of leaving country music.  I really don’t even know how to go about doing that.

“The things that’ll be in my records, for as long as I make them, will be about who I am, where I’m from, and the lifestyle that I live and come from.  I don’t know how I could ever get any of that close enough to pop to be considered a pop act.”

And because one stupid question often leads to another, they asked if he ever hears his song “House Party” . . . when he’s at a house party.  He doesn’t, but mostly because he can’t stand hearing his own music.

Quote, “I hate listening to myself in general, especially with a bunch of people around, so I would have to sabotage that if it happened.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD announced the dates of a 40-city North American tour that will kick off January 30th in Jacksonville, Florida . . . and run through May 30th in London, Ontario, Canada.

She’s calling it “Storyteller Tour:  Stories in the Round” because, well, “Storyteller” is the name of her album, and she’ll be performing in the round.  EASTON CORBIN and the SWON BROTHERS will open the shows.

While we’re on the subject:  Carrie was on yesterday’s “Ellen”, and they played a game called Country Song or Country Wrong.  Ellen read a song title and they’d both guess if it was a real song or a fake one.  After that Ellen did that thing where a staff member sneaks up and scares the hell out of the guest.
