These past few weeks have found Angaleena Presley on tour with the Indigo Girls and preparing for the October 14 release of her 12-track solo album American Middle Class. Still, she carved out time to firm up some, let’s say . . . fine points, of the time she’ll spend at the five-day Americana Music Fest in Nashville that officially begins Thursday, Sept. 17.
As you’d expect, the Pistol Annies member and her four-piece band spent countless hours rehearsing songs they’ll play at various events during the Fest—including the concert headlined by The Avett Brothers that starts at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 20, on the Riverfront—but all her prep work wasn’t strictly music-based.
“Yesterday I went to this little coffee house to prepare for the next few weeks,” Angaleena told Country Weeklyfrom her Nashville home. “I was not thinking about the set list, or about music. I was thinking ‘What am I gonna wear!’ I think that’s the most stressful part of my job, deciding what to wear. So I made this list and spent time solely thinking about fashion and what to wear at cocktail parties and at shows!”
Something tells us the Kentucky native dubbed “Holler Annie” will look just as striking as always!
After all the excitement of touring, and fan meet-and-greets and Fest events, what will she do to celebrate her album release?
“I’m probably going to take a nap,” laughs Angaleena who co-produced the album with her husband and manager Jordan Powell. “It will be the first real rest I’ve gotten in over a year.”
