Garth Brooks Explains Which Artists are “Punks”. Hint: It’s Everyone, Including Him
Here’s another reason why GARTH BROOKS is still relevant after some 26 years. He doesn’t waste time whining about the new artists and what they’re doing. Instead, he welcomes them, and listens to what they’re saying.
He explains, quote, “If country music doesn’t change, what fun is that? I like the fact that it’s different than it was. It’s fun to see the change, and it’s fun to try to keep up with it.”
He also has an awesome take on how the veterans view the new guys. Quote, “I grew up on MERLEHAGGARD and GEORGE JONES, but I’m sure when they [first] heard of Garth Brooks, they went, ‘Pfft, punk.’
“Everybody that comes before you is a God, everybody that comes after you is a punk, and that’s kind of how it is.”
Zac Brown Band’s “Homegrown” Video Is all Clips from Fans
The ZAC BROWN BAND wanted the video for “Homegrown” to be real . . . so they asked fans to send footage of their hometown. It worked to the tune of over 1,000 submissions, and more than four hours of footage.
The tough part was editing it down, but they’re so happy with the results they dedicated it to all of them. They wrote, quote, “Thanks to our fans for showing us a little piece of home. This is YOUR ‘Homegrown‘ video.”
Brad Paisley Compares the Art of Recording to the Art of Painting
BRAD PAISLEY says the best things that happen in the studio are unexpected. He compares it to what an artist goes through. Quote, “It’s completely like painting. You paint yourself into a corner at times and have to figure your way out.
“Everything you put on a canvas affects the thing next to it. And that’s how it is with a record.”
You should see what a night of fishnet stockings worn over a bruise did to KACEY MUSGRAVES’ right leg. I mean it. Take a look . . . she posted an Instagram photo on Wednesday, and wrote, “Pre-existing bruise, from shutting the car door on my own leg, plus wearing fishnets last night.”
Things are happening too fast for MIRANDA LAMBERT . . . so she’s hatching a plan to slow things down, appreciate the little moments, and not rush through everything.
This aired recently, but it’s totally worth a look if you haven’t seen it. It’s SARA EVANS and MARTINA MCBRIDEon PBS’ “Front and Center” performing the Dolly Parton classic “Jolene”.
