That Bar Near the Stage at the “American Country Countdown Awards” Was Pouring Vodka Fast and Furiously
People.com has a list of the “5 Fun Things at the ‘American Country Countdown Awards’ You Missed on TV”.
Remember that bar near the stage that FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’S TYLER HUBBARD and BRIAN KELLEYkept yapping about? Well, it was real and it was well stocked.
One of the bartenders pouring drinks said the most popular beverage of the night was vodka . . . and that people sucked down three bottles of it in the first 90 minutes of the show.
Another “fun thing” was watching MADDIE & TAE, who are both 19, act like teenagers. They were Tweeting and texting throughout the show and they totally ignored their dads, whom they dragged along to be their dates.
Fan Support Inspired Parmalee to Move Forward After Their Drummer Was Injured In a Shooting in 2010
PARMALEE have broken through with two consecutive Top 10 country hits . . . “Carolina”, and“Close Your Eyes”. Although things are going well, there was a time when it seemed impossible for them to move forward.
Back in 2010, the band was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in their trailer after a show. During the chaos, drummer SCOTT THOMAS was shot three times and was in a coma for 10 days. Fortunately, he’s fully recovered.
Still, it left the band totally shaken up . . . and they may not have regrouped if not for their fans.
Singer MATT THOMAS, who is Scott’s brother, says, quote, “I’ve never seen [so] much outreach from people that we didn’t even know we had connected with over the years . . . so it really made us feel like we’ve been doing something right.
“Over all these years, to have everybody just want to help us out and want to see us continue to move forward, I think that was the biggest inspiration for us.”
CMT.com put together a list of the “5 Tweets Country Artists Want to Forget”. The best one is when BLAKE SHELTON Tweeted about driving over a turtle . . . and then animal rights people went dog nuts. Eventually he backtracked and assured everyone that he was joking, and it never really happened.
KACEY MUSGRAVES has added a leg to her “Same Tour, Different Trailer” tour. It’s a total of nine cities, and it kicks off February 12th in Norfolk, Virginia. Grab your dates at KaceyMusgraves.com.
