According to a new study by CareerCast.com, “BROADCASTER” is the seventh most stressful job you can have. They looked at 11 different kinds of job demands that evoke stress, both physical AND mental. Here are the ten most stressful jobs . . .
- Firefighter.
- Member of the military.
- General in the military.
- Airline pilot.
- Police officer.
- Actor.
- Broadcaster.
- Event coordinator.
- Photojournalist.
- Newspaper reporter.
Yes, you see that correctly, BROADCASTER, you know us radio and TV type folk have the seventh most stressful job. At first it’s something to really laugh about when you consider we mainly just talk a few minutes at a time for 4 hours, but upon further thought, it can be stressful. Obviously, we’re not putting our lives on the line like our brave military and amazing first responders, but stress is different things. There are so many radio people who live in constant fear every day about being fired. With so many giant corporations controlling the market, there are so few jobs for those that get into broadcasting. That constant every day fear of being fired can certainly add up to some crazy stress.
