Trace Adkins Gave a Drunk Performance at a Charity Concert Last Week
TRACE ADKINS’ battle with the bottle took another bad turn last week when he showed up drunk at a concert. (It was the Rockin’ Country Thunder 106 “Guys with Guitars Under the Stars” benefit for St. Jude’s.)
According to several reports, he was slurring his words, couldn’t finish his set, and even stumbled off the stage. He was such a mess that fans were leaving early. It was especially upsetting because there were a lot of kids in the crowd.
TMZ.com has video of Trace from the show. He’s sitting on a stool and putting serious weight on the mic stand. His cowboy hat is covering his eyes and he seems to be missing every other word to the song.
There’s been no public statement from Trace, or his people . . . but he did donate his performance fee back to the charity. So, he’s basically admitting he messed up.
Today’s country stars are so fit they WANT you to see what they look like in swimsuits. So, they post photos . . . and then RareCountry.com does us a favor and grabs a bunch. This set includes pics from Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Brett Eldredge, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Ashley Monroe, LeAnn Rimes,Kip Moore, Billy Currington, Canaan Smith . . . and a pregnant Jana Kramer.
I’m not saying JAKE OWEN needed a hit record so badly that he begged CHRIS STAPLETON to sing backup on “If He Ain’t Gonna Love You”. Okay, maybe I am. Everything Chris touches turns to gold these days. Anyway, RollingStone.com has a clip of the song. It’s on Jake’s “American Love” album, which is out July 29th.
Miranda Lambert has confirmed the title of her new single, “Vice,” albeit sneakily.
Rumors have been rampant online about the song, which she is said to have co-written with two of Nashville’s top songwriters, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.
The singer posted a teasing picture to her Instagram on Wednesday (July 13), showing a hand holding a liquor glass. She followed up with another post on Thursday afternoon, another black and white showing a needle dropping on an old-timey single record. The label of the single is blurred, but appears to be the word “Vice” that’s been deliberately obscured.
Cadillac Jack of station 101.5 KICKS tells Taste of Country that Lambert’s vice in the song is men.
Lambert has said that she has been hard at work on new music that she hopes to release by mid-summer.
“I’ve really worked since last summer just writing and recording, so no one is more excited than me to have the next thing come through and show off what I’ve been doing,” she told reporters in the press room on the opening night of the 2016 CMA Music Festival in Nashville on June 9 (quote via Rolling Stone Country). “I know I’ve kind of been ‘not around,’ but I’ve been around. I’m getting really close, and hopefully by mid-summer we’ll have some new music people can hear.”

Have you wondered what it would look like if CAM played “Pokemon Go” WHILE walking around backstage at the Grand Ole Opry? Well, “Backstage at the Opry” thought you might, so they posted a video of her doing just that.
Some guy hit up social media asking LEE BRICE if he’d stop in at his wedding rehearsal . . . because he and his future bride chose “I Don’t Dance” as their first dance. Good move, because Lee saw it, and did it. The guy posted a photo on Friday, and captioned it, “Thank you @Lee-Brice for making our rehearsal dinner awesome by stopping by. Truly blessed and made my princess happy.”
BLAKE SHELTON brought CHRIS YOUNG out to help him perform “Hillbilly Bone” at a show last month. It’s just getting around now. (Warning: There’s audience chatter and although we didn’t hear anything offense in the video, be careful. The song kicks in at 2:57. Chris joins him at the 4:27 mark.)
RONNIE MILSAP checked into the hospital on Friday because he was suffering from “nausea due to medication and dehydration.” He missed his concert that night in Tifton, Georgia. Fortunately, he was feeling better the next day and was able to make his show in Tuscumbia, Alabama. (Tennessean)
