Dolly Parton Is the Only Artist to Have A Top 20 Country Hit in Every Decade Since the 1960s
How great is DOLLY PARTON? Well, her duet of “Jolene” with PENTATONIX has cracked the Top 20 in“Billboard’s” Hot Country Songs chart. That makes her the ONLY artist in history to have a Top 20 country hit in six straight decades.
We’re talking the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, and ’10s. It all started with “Something Fishy” in 1967. The most recent time was in 2006 when she did vocals on BRAD PAISLEY’s “When I Get Where I’m Going”.
Kellie Pickler Was Given the Department of Defense Spirit and Hope Award
KELLIE PICKLER and her husband Kyle Jacobs were in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday being honored with the Department of Defense Spirit of Hope Award. It’s given citizens who significantly enhance the quality of life of service members.
Collectively, they’ve participated in 10 USO tours, and performed in 13 countries, at over 60 military bases. The USO was also their charity of choice when they competed on “Family Feud”.
GEORGE STRAIT is releasing a three-disc, 56-song box set on November 18th, exclusively at Walmart. It’s called “Strait Out of the Box: Part 2”, and covers the years from 1996 to 2016. It includes his current hit,“Goin’ Goin’ Gone”. (UMG)
