How Eric Church Got Upstaged by Sylvester Stallone
ERIC CHURCH isn’t flashy, but he is making decent money . . . so somebody asked if he’s ever dug deep and made an indulgent purchase. He has, and the story around it is pretty funny.
He always wanted a gold watch like the one his grandfather was given after retiring from the police force. So, one time when he and his wife were in New York City he got the idea to buy a couple of Rolexes. One for him, and one for her.
He says, quote, “It turns out SYLVESTER STALLONE had just come in the store with his staff to celebrate the last ‘Rocky’ movie.
“So I’m thinking I’m gonna walk in and impress them by buying TWO Rolexes, and they go, ‘Yeah, we just sold 16 to Sylvester Stallone.’ I thought, ‘Well, [crap], there goes that.'”
Nobody needs extra incentive to tear into a bag of Fritos, but here’s one anyway. If you buy a bag from now through the end of the year, you can get a free download of GARTH BROOKS’ new song, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance”. It’s from his upcoming studio album, which will be out soon. (Full Story)

Jason Aldean Earns ‘More Than Pink’ Honor From Susan G. Komen Foundation
A longtime supporter of the fight against breast cancer, Jason Aldean has been named a More Than Pink Hero the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Taste of Country reports that Susan G. Komen has launched their More Than Pink campaign to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the next 10 years. Their More Than Pink Heroes are being honored for their dedication to raising awareness of and funds for breast cancer research; Aldean is being given the title along with the likes of doctors and researchers, athletes and even First Ladies Barbara Bush and Betty Ford.
Aldean has become known for treating breast cancer survivors like the VIPs they are at his shows, in addition to making considerable donations to the cause. His annual Concert for the Cure has raised more than $2.3 million for Susan G. Komen, to help battle breast cancer in its 11 years.
Aldean’s 2016 Concert for the Cure will be part of the eighth annual Opry Goes Pink event, set for Oct. 25. The singer will literally turn the Opry’s iconic barn backdrop pink when he flips the switch to light up the stage, and he’ll be performing alongside other artists to raise money for Women Rock for the Cure and the Nashville chapter of Susan G. Komen.
