News Flash: Tyler Hubbard Has Quit Social Media
You can add TYLER HUBBARD’s name to the list of country stars who’ve quit social media. What do you give him, a week? Two?
He posted the big news on Instagram, where else, saying that he’s been spending too much of his “valuable time” worrying about his next post, or how many comments he gets. He wants to focus more on his relationships, his family, and his music.
Here’s the silver lining. We may be the ones who benefit. He said, quote, “Maybe I’ll even learn a new instrument instead of learning how to Snapchat.” I know he plays guitar and sings, so, what do you think? Drums? Fiddle? Sax?
Don’t get all depressed about this because his FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE bandmate BRIAN KELLEY still has a strong social media presence. And by “strong” I mean frivolous. Yesterday, he posted video of a hummingbird outside his treehouse.
Dierks Bentley Takes Breakups Like a Girl?
DIERKS BENTLEY and ELLE KING were on the “Today Show” yesterday talking about their song “Different For Girls”. It’s the latest single from his “Black” album.
The song deals with the different ways men and women handle breakups. For example, men tend to get drunk and do stupid stuff, while women try to connect with friends. Hey, I didn’t write the song.
Anyway, there was a great reveal in the interview. Dierks said he handles breakups differently than most guys because HE’S the one who takes it hard. But Elle said she’s just the opposite, quote, “He does it the girly way. I do it the manly way.”
One more thing about Dierks and Elle: You can watch them perform together at the “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock”. That’s going down August 3rd on ABC.
CHARLIE DANIELS’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam just got better now that CHRIS STAPLETON has been added to the show. More performers will be announced leading up to the main event, which is November 30th in Nashville. Funds will benefit Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Grab updates at CharlieDaniels.com.
RollingStone.com has a pretty cool photo exhibit called “20 Out of 20.” It’s from an exhibition in Nashville by a photographer who photographed 20 country stars in 20 days. Hence, the name. It includes pics of Brett Eldredge, Jake Owen, Maren Morris, Chase Rice, RaeLynn, Chris Lane, Kelsea Ballerini, and Kip Moore.
Craig Morgan Addresses First Responders, Fans Following Son Jerry’s Death
It has been just over a week since Craig Morgan‘s son, Jerry Greer, died in a boating accident. On Wednesday afternoon (July 20), Morgan spoke out for the first time, giving thanks for all the support his family has received since the tragedy.
Morgan writes the following via his Facebook page:
“The loss of our son Jerry is the hardest thing we have ever had to endure as a family. Karen and I are so grateful for all of the wonderful people who have shown us unwavering support during this difficult time. There are too many to name here, but we are especially thankful for the Humphreys County Sheriff and Fire Departments, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and all the additional agencies and volunteers who turned out to bring our son home. We would also like to thank our friends, family members, and Jerry’s friends who have all shown us an immense amount of love and support. Additionally, we cannot thank the music and outdoor communities enough for wrapping their arms around us, as well as our industry friends, fans, and all those that loved our son. We are blessed by the outpouring of prayers and condolences from across the world. Jerry may be gone from this earth, and we will miss him every day, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. We will find peace knowing that God has a bigger plan, and that one day, we’ll be reunited with him again in Heaven. John 3:16.”
19-year-old Jerry Greer, was laid to rest in Nashville on Saturday (July 16). He died on Sunday (July 10) when he went underwater in a tubing accident and did not resurface. An ongoing investigation will attempt to discover why the life preserver he was wearing did not prevent his death.
