Kiefer Sutherland Knows It’s Annoying When Actors Try to Be Musicians
KIEFER SUTHERLAND’s country album “Down in a Hole” came out on Friday. And when he hears about actors trying to become musicians, he does the same thing you do . . . he rolls his eyes.
He says he had no intention of making an album. Quote, “I’m completely aware of the stigma, and that’s why I never did it.” So you gotta wonder. . . why DID he?
He says his plan was to pitch his songs to ACTUAL country artists, and he played them for a friend who’s a producer. But the songs were obviously really personal, so the guy told him to do it himself. Also, alcohol was involved . . .
They went to a bar, had a few drinks, and by the end of that night it seemed like a better idea. Oh . . . and he’s reached a point in his life when he doesn’t CARE if someone says something nasty or makes fun of him.
As far as being a musician, he wanted a guitar when he was four. And his mom said YES . . . as long as he played the violin until he was ten. So he did . . . and the violin led him to theater and acting. But he DID get that guitar.
Lots of country music lined up for “Good Morning America’s” summer concert series this week: Old Dominionthis morning, Drake White on Tuesday, Florida Georgia Line on Wednesday, Kenny Chesney on Thursday, and Jason Aldean on Friday. (Full Story)
KENNY CHESNEY sold out Met Life Stadium on Saturday. That’s where the Jets and the Giants play, and there’s a cool photo online that shows what it’s like to play in front of 56,000 people . . . 56,292 to be exact. (Full Story)
MIRANDA LAMBERT got engaged Saturday night . . . to a little kid named Sebastian at a meet-and-greet who got down on one knee and asked her. It was right before she opened for Kenny Chesney. The kid brought a ring and everything. Buy she told him he’d have to wait 25 years. (Full Story)
