Maverick Matters: The Big Event


The Big Event provides the students of Texas A&M University with the opportunity to say “Thank You” to the residents of Bryan/College Station for their continued support throughout the years. This year, nearly 22,000 students volunteered to complete over 2,500 jobs; performing tasks that range from painting, to yard work, and to cleaning, The Big Event is going to be a unifying experience for all. Already the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation, The Big Event has expanded to 110 other schools across the country. We have recently expanded to international schools in Spain, Australia, Germany, Pakistan & Costa Rica. The Big Event Committee and Staff are responsible for planning and organizing all events leading up to this day of service – including fundraisers, alumni events, and job checks – enabling change to take place in our community on the day of.
