The House of Blues Canceled Jamey Johnson’s Show Because of Safety Concerns
The House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina cancelled JAMEY JOHNSON’s show on Sunday because of safety concerns. What’s weird is that those “concerns” were between the venue and Jamey.
Here’s what the House of Blues wrote on Facebook: “Tonight’s artist refused to adhere to our safety and security guidelines and would not enter the building. Unfortunately, tonight’s show is cancelled. We regret any inconvenience.”
One of Jamey’s band members, a woman named Melonie Cannon, wrote something in the comments section that may have explained what “guideline” may or may not have been crossed. Quote, “No one in our band or crew carried a gun in that building.”
She also shared comments written by Jamey’s drummer, TC Coleman, who wrote that there was a metal detector the band was asked to walk through, but it made them feel like they were being treated as terrorists.
It sounds like the club has a zero tolerance policy for firearms, which they may feel protects everybody . . . so even if Jamey or someone in his band DID have a firearm, they wouldn’t have been allowed inside. Jamey has yet to comment.
Chris Stapleton Believes the Best Songs Always Stand the Test of Time
We know that CHRIS STAPLETON’s“From A Room: Volume One” album has several songs he wrote over 10 years ago. He’s actually proud of that. He says the best stuff will always stand the test of time.
Quote, “It’s real easy to like a song the day you wrote it. Everybody can think they’re a genius on the day they write a song.
“[But] if you can write a song and then listen to it 10 years away from writing it and go, ‘You know, that’s a pretty good song. I like that song.’ Then that’s a pretty good indication that it’s probably okay.”
As for HOW to write a great song, well, Chris says the best advice he ever heard on that came from Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
Quote, “I read an interview with him one time where he said he always tried to make music that he would want to listen to, and I think that is the best kind of litmus test for what you want to record or make.”
JERROD NIEMANN turned 38 yesterday, but the birthday celebration started over the weekend when his hot wife Morgan dressed up as Marilyn Monroe and jumped out of a cake. Well, she walked out, but you get the idea.
