Jake Owen Is Doing a Mini Tour . . . On a Vintage VW Bus
JAKE OWEN is releasing a new single on Friday called “American Country Love Song”. He’s promoting it by doing a series of shows ON a vintage 1966 Volkswagen bus that will make stopsfrom Nashville to Key West, Florida.
He’s kicking it off this Saturday, and will be posting dates and times on Twitter and Instagram. He announced this in a Facebook video where he walks from his manager’s office to the parking lot to see the bus, which has just arrived.
He says, quote, “I had this idea to spread love as much as I can, spread positivity. I like to spontaneously interact with my fans on the road[and] I’ve always been obsessed with Volkswagen busses. I love the freedom of them, I love the idea.
“[So], I’m stopping in places to see you. You can hang out with me in the bus, and I’ll play some new songs for you. We hope to see you guys along the way.”
Chris Stapleton’s New Video Takes a Serious Look at Depression
CHRIS STAPLETON’s “Fire Away“ video is very intense. It’s a mini-movie that follows a young woman’s battle with depression, and even though her husband does everything he can to help, she ends up committing suicide.
Chris plays the bartender and he only has a minor role. The husband is played by Ben Foster, whom you may know as Angel from “X-Men: The Last Stand”. Margarita Levieva is the wife. She plays Gina on “The Blacklist”.
Chris is hoping the video will bring attention to mental health awareness. In fact, it’s structured on the five signs of a potential mental health condition: Personality change, agitation, withdrawal, poor self-care, and hopelessness.
Heavy stuff, but it’s real. He’s also partnered with The Campaign to Change Direction, which focuses on mental health issues. The video ends with a link to their website, ChangeDirection.org.
ZAC BROWN BAND announced the dates of their Black Out The Sun tour. It’ll pick up on May 19th in Hartford, Connecticut and run though September 3rd in Saratoga Springs, New York. DRAKE WHITE & THE BIG FIRE will open the shows. Details are at ZacBrownBand.com.
OLD DOMINION’s “Snapback“ video was shot at a skate park and an empty swimming pool in Southern California, and it features a 22-year-old Brazilian female skateboarder named Leticia Bufoni. Nice. And yet, my favorite part is at the very end when bassist GEOFF SPRING tries showing off his skateboarding skills and does a faceplant into the pavement.
