Frankie Ballard Has Deep Love for a Certain Bob Seger Song
Do you have song that you really, really love . . . but other people are like, “Eh, it’s okay.” I’m especially talking about a deep cut, or an oldie that nobody ever seems to talk about.
FRANKIE BALLARD feels that way about BOB SEGER’s 1980 hit “You’ll Accomp’ny Me”. The difference, of course, is that Frankie brought it back to light by recording his own version. It’s from his “El Rio” album and it’s his latest single.
Here’s what he said about it, quote, “I just have always loved that song so deeply in like a secret way. Because it’s kind of an obscure hit, you know. I wanted to turn on a lot of younger people who maybe have never heard any of Bob Seger’s stuff to some of the cool songs that he wrote.” (Here’s Frankie’s version. And Seger’s original.)
LADY ANTEBELLUM will be announcing this year’s ACM nominations on NEXT Thursday’s edition of “CBS This Morning”. The “52nd Academy of Country Music Awards” is going down April 2nd. (Full Story)
In case you missed this: TRACE ADKINS guest-hosted the “Today Show” yesterday . . . and did some big time flirting with actress RUBY ROSE from “Orange is the New Black”. She kind of started it by complimenting his sexy voice.
