Why Doesn’t Florida Georgia Line Want the Police Backstage at Their Concerts?
FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE is accused of trying to forbid the police from going backstage at their Country Thunder show on Friday in Wisconsin . . . and their Great Jones County Fair concert on Saturday in Iowa.
It started on Friday when somebody who claimed to be working at Country Thunder posted a message saying FGL “requested a zero police presence” during their concert. The person also accused the band of taking an “anti-police stance.” (Here’s that.)
That seems to be a stretch. Fox News talked to a police spokesman who said the band didn’t ask for “zero police presence,” but did try to keep officers from going backstage. The request was denied for safety reasons.
Once the story got out, Country Thunder tried to calm things down by saying they saw the original post and “none of it was true.” (Check that out, here.) It’s not clear what “original post” they meant, but it’s probably the “zero police presence” guy.
As for Saturday’s show, a sheriff told TMZ he was heading backstage to discuss security but was stopped by a crew member who said the band wanted NO uniformed officers backstage . . . and that if they saw ANY cops they’d “pull the plug” on the show.
And then a little later the band asked for a police escort out of town after the show. (???) The sheriff denied that request saying NOT one “tax dollar” would be spent assisting them. The band tried to get other police types to do it, but got shut down.
This is where Florida Georgia Line is supposed to DENY it all, but they didn’t. They hit up social media on Sunday with an apology, and really, nothing else.
Quote, “Hey guys, we’ve just been made aware something happened at a show this weekend involving a police officer. We want you to know that we have nothing but love and respect for the police. We are bummed anyone ever got a different impression.”

Are you ready for another video from “country singer” KIEFER SUTHERLAND? The song is called “Can’t Stay Away“, and, honestly, it’s not bad. (Or am I going soft in the head?) It’s from his album “Down In A Hole”, which will be out August 19th.
