Sam Hunt Would Never Give Up Country Music for the NFL

We know SAM HUNT was invited to play quarterback in the NFL, but it didn’t work out.  But as a country singer, well, he’s as famous as you can get in the short amount of time he’s been on the scene.

With that in mind, TMZ asked if he’d be willing to switch back to football if he KNEW he’d have the same kind of success that he’s having in country music.   He said, quote, “No, of course not.  I’m not in control of my fate, and that’s a good thing.

“I’m proud to be doing what I’m doing.  It wasn’t in the cards to work out in football, but I’m happy to be doing what I’m doing.”

He said he still loves the game and misses competing.  He gets his sports fix by playing basketball at the YMCA when he’s home.  But he has to hold back because, quote, “I can’t play guitar if I blow my arm out.”

(You can check out the interview, here.  There’s also video of Sam playing quarterback at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.  Careful:  There’s tons of crowd noise and, although we didn’t hear swearing, we can’t be sure.)

ERIC CHURCH’s 39th birthday was yesterday and his crew gave him an awesome cake in honor of his song“Record Year”.  It was decorated to look exactly like a folding record player right down to the vinyl-looking single.

People.com set up a photo booth at Sunday’s “American Country Countdown Awards” . . . and several stars were gracious enough to pose.  (Is it me, or does RONNIE DUNN look totally wasted in this photo?)
