Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Are Still Twitter Friends
As we move into week two of the MIRANDA LAMBERT – BLAKE SHELTON divorce, here’s one thing we know for sure: They don’t hate each other. At least not publicly.
Their buddy ASHLEY MONROE released her new album “The Blade” on Friday, so to help pump up sales Blake rode the publicity from their divorce to give it a push.
He posted this Tweet, “Hey @Miranda Lambert, can you believe there are people who haven’t bought @Ashley Monroe’s new album? Isn’t that shocking?”
Miranda responded minutes later with, quote, “No, I can’t because it’s the best work she has ever done. I love it. We love you, @Ashley Monroe.”
Then she hit up Twitter again with a pic from earlier in the week. It was Blake pushing a baby stroller on the set of “The Voice”. She wrote, “I knew it. You WERE pregnant. This calls for a drink!”
He saw the post and went with the joke, quote, “Ha! Busted. I wasn’t JUST a fat ass. Drinking shall now begin.”
Chris Young Cast His Tricked-Out Dodge Challenger in His “I’m Comin’ Over” Video
CHRIS YOUNG saved a few bucks during the casting of his “I’m Comin’ Over“ video. And I’m not talking about the blonde model in skimpy underwear he gets to make out with.
I’m referring to the tricked-out Dodge Challenger, which, to be honest, is just as sexy. It wasn’t a rental, it’s his very own car. He tells CMT, quote, “It has custom headers . . . the intake and exhaust are all different. And, plus, we supercharged it.
“We’ve definitely done some things. Now it’s faster than an SRT, technically.”
Chris wanted to use it because he’s always been “a muscle-car guy.” It’s something that started in high school with his first fixer-upper. Quote, “My first car was a twice-wrecked 1989 Chevy Camaro.
“I wanted that particular model because it was boxy, but I only had so much to spend on it. My dad and I found a parts car that had a perfect body for $300. We just started swapping parts back and forth. We worked on that first car a lot.”
Season Three “Voice” champ CASSADEE POPE performed her new song “I Am Invincible” at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics on Saturday. It’s the first single off her next album, which is supposed to come out sometime next year. (Here’s video.)
CHASE RICE released the first round of dates for his “JD and Jesus Tour”. It’ll get going October 1st in Norfolk, Virginia . . . and continue through December 3rd in Phoenix, Arizona. THE CADILLAC THREE are opening the shows. Grab your details at ChaseRice.com.
CRAIG MORGAN made his 200th appearance on the Grand Ole Opry last Tuesday.
Little Big Town Postpone Return to the Road After Jimi Westbrook’s Vocal Cord Surgery
Little Big Town will have to wait just a bit longer to return to the road after member Jimi Westbrook’s vocal cord surgery.
In a video posted to their Facebook page on Sunday (July 26), the band reveals that Westbrook “need a little bit more time to heal up so he’ll be 100 percent and [can] get back on the road.”
LBT were scheduled to resume their 2015 Pain Killer Tour on July 31, with a show at the Delaware State Fair, but it has been canceled, as have all of their concerts through the end of August. The country quartet will hopefully begin touring again on Sept. 2, with a show at the Great Allentown Fair in Allentown, Pa., according to their website.
