Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Are Getting Divorced
The country music world shook a little bit yesterday. MIRANDA LAMBERT and BLAKE SHELTON announced that they’re getting divorced. They said, quote, “This is not the future we envisioned.
“And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
According to TMZ, Blake filed the divorce papers two weeks ago in Oklahoma . . . but the judge didn’t sign them until yesterday. That would explain the timing of the announcement.
And it looks like a clean break. They have a prenup and all the financial details have been worked out. He’s keeping the ranch in Oklahoma and she gets the Nashville house.
Some reports say they’ve been in a trial separation for about a year, and they’ve been in therapy for two years. That would mean they’ve spent half of their four-year marriage in counseling. They were married in May of 2011.
Fortunately, they have no children. He’s 39, she’s 31. This was Blake’s second rodeo. He was married to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006.
As for why it ended, one source told E! that they never saw each other. Quote, “Their busy schedules were a big issue. They both worked a lot and had to spend a lot of time apart. The less time they spent together, the more they grew apart.”
We’ve all heard the constant rumors that Blake was a cheater. Well, “People“ has a source who says that’s not true. Quote, “Blake is incredibly loyal and dedicated. I can guarantee he’s been faithful to that woman, he hasn’t cheated ever.”
It appears that Miranda’s not taking this very well. There’s a video from Saturday of her losing it on stage while trying to sing “The House That Built Me”. That’s the song that was originally written for Blake but he gave it to her to record.
KIP MOORE posted a photo of him and DIERKS BENTLEY in a friendly embrace on stage. And by friendly, we mean Dierks is playing grab-ass. Kip captioned it, “Dierks and I recreating our first 5th grade slow dance. His hands had me uncomfortable, but I went with it.”
