Country stars on Late Night TV tonight:

“Seth Meyers” – Kacey Musgrave

“Jimmy Kimmel” – Dwight Yoakam

Is Montgomery Gentry to Blame for the “Bro Country” Sound?

MONTGOMERY GENTRY have been singing about tattoos, drinking, dirt roads, and small towns for a long time.  Yep, the same themes you find in the average bro country song.  In fact, some people think they were ground zero.

EDDIE MONTGOMERY tells “Rolling Stone”, quote, “We go around to a lot of [people] and they’re like, ‘Y’all were actually the start of bro country.’  And we’re like, ‘I don’t know about that.’  We grew up listening to Hank Jr., Charlie Daniels, and all that stuff.  But if they want to say we started it, then that’s fine with us.”

TROY GENTRY doesn’t disagree, although he’d like to point out that their themes are much more diverse.

Quote, “We [also] sing songs about our faith, our family, the military, the hardworking folks out there that make this world go ’round.  That’s been the winning formula throughout our career.”

Darius Rucker Tips His Caddie $300 a Day

DARIUS RUCKER is nuts about golf, so “Billboard” asked him a few questions about it.  As for how much he tips his caddy, he said, quote, “At Pebble Beach, $300 a day.”

They also asked about the ugliest golf wear he owns.  He said, quote “A Loudmouth jacket that JOHN DALY gave me.

You can read the rest of his answers at Billboard.com.

REBA MCENTIRE is still tight with former President GEORGE H.W. BUSH and his wife BARBARA.  She posted an Instagram photo of them together, and wrote, “Had the best time helping Mrs. Barbara Bush celebrate her 90th birthday this weekend.  Thanks to all the Bush family for the super hospitality.”

KEITH URBAN has released his new song, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16“.  He’s also planning to perform it on tonight’s CMT Awards.

A THOUSAND HORSES have released the follow-up to their hit “Smoke”.  It’s called “(This Ain’t No) Drunk Dial“.

Don’t miss the CMT Music Awards tonight at 8/7c!
