Florida Georgia Line Musical Influences Include Country, Hip-Hop, and Gospel

If you ask FLORIDA GEORGIA LINEto name their musical influences, pack a lunch, because they’re going to ramble.  DAN RATHER got them started during an episode of his AXS-TV show “The Big Interview”.

BRIAN KELLEY said, quote, “Garth Brooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, Alan Jackson . . . even in the Christian world, Shane & Shane . . . growing up, we loved them.”

There’s more:  Quote, “Lil’ Wayne, Eminem in the hip-hop world.  We both loved making mix tapes, where you had anything from Kenny Chesney to literally Lil Wayne, to a Shane & Shane song or a Casting Crowns song.”

TYLER HUBBARD was a little more to the point when he said, quote, “Something that a lot of people don’t understand, but we listen to everything.”

Tyler Farr is Engaged

TYLER FARRgot engaged over the weekend to his longtime girlfriend Hannah Freeman.  He posted a photo on his Instagram and wrote, “Proud to say I’m engaged to my best friend and the most amazing woman I’ve ever known.”

He proposed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and talked about the significance of that in a statement, saying, quote, “Truly the best moment of my life.  And I honestly couldn’t think of a better church than the mother church of country music.”

They’re Making a Movie Out of Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors”

Earlier this year NBC announced they were going to create a series of two-hour TV movies based on different aspects of DOLLY PARTON’s life.  Well, the first one will be around her song “Coat of Many Colors”.

The movie will focus on how she grew up dirt poor in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee . . . but overcame the odds thanks to the love and faith of hertightknit family.  No word yet on an airdate.

CRAIG MORGAN did a solid version of his song “Country Side of Heaven” during a recent appearance on the Grand Ole Opry.
