Ashley Monroe Finds it Difficult to Write Positive Songs

ASHLEY MONROE’s “On To Something Good“ is the first single from her new album, which will be out sometime this year.  The song is upbeat and kind of fun, which is ironic because writing it was almost painful.

She says, quote, “It’s so hard for me to write a positive song, but I really wanted to challenge myself.  It’s a happy-sounding song.  Who would have thought it?  But don’t worry.  That’s about the only happy and uptempo song on the record!”

One of those non-happy songs on the new album is called “If Love Was Fair”, and there’s some history behind that.  She says, quote, “That one hit me particularly, because I’ve been on the giving end of heartbreak.

“I’ve been the cold and careless one.  I guess it’s interesting for a woman to say or admit that.  It’s pretty much because of a past heartbreak that a woman can turn cold and callous.  Sometimes, I’ve caught myself saying ‘love ain’t fair,’ and it isn’t.”

Kenny Chesney is Attracted to Women Who “Love Hard”

When it comes to KENNY CHESNEY’s type, well, there was RENEE ZELLWEGER and that didn’t end well.  Beyond that there’s not a lot to go on, until now.  It seems everything we need to know about his attractions are in his song “Wild Child”.

He says, quote, “I’m very attracted to women who are like that.  Who love hard.  They’ve got a little bit of island soul to them.  A little bit of hippie in them, and a whole lot of free spirit.

“I guess all my years on the islands I became attracted to that kind of person.”

Maddie & Tae Released “Fly” So Fans Could See their Vulnerable Side

MADDIE & TAE wanted to go in a different direction for their follow-up to “Girl In A Country Song”.  MADDIE MARLOW explains, quote, “‘Fly’ was not the obvious choice.  Most people might go with the uptempo, rockin’ song.

“But sometimes the easiest choice is not the best choice . . . and we wanted our fans to know a little more about us and see the vulnerable side of us.”

Is this CARRIE UNDERWOOD’s first selfie since her son Isaiah was born on February 27th?  I’m pretty sure.  She captioned it, “No time to fix the hair today.  Headband to the rescue!  #KeepItSimple”

CMT.com pulled together social media posts of country stars giving their pets a shout out.  They include JASON ALDEAN, HUNTER HAYES and BRIAN KELLEY of Florida Georgia Line.

TIM MCGRAW is the narrator of the documentary “Shaq & Dale”, which is about the friendship of SHAQUILLE O’NEAL and his Louisiana State University basketball coach Dale Brown.  It debuts April 13th on ESPN’s SEC Network.  Tim’s from Louisiana and is a huge LSU fan.  (CMT)

BRETT ELDREDGE is really happy he started out his career with three hit singles in a row . . . instead of ending up as a one-hit wonder.
