Darius Rucker Had to Earn His Dinner at Clint Eastwood’s House . . . By Telling a Joke

DARIUS RUCKER is kind of tight with CLINT EASTWOOD.  Well, at least tight enough to get invited a few times to dinner at the man’s house.  And when he does go, he HAS to bring the funny.

He explains, quote, “I’ve had dinner at Clint’s house a couple of times.  He does this thing where he invites certain people to his house, and at the end of the dinner you have to tell a joke.  Everybody has to tell one.

“It’s a really cool thing because you got those comedians in there who are telling these 15 minute jokes to get to the punch line . . . and then you got me who’s got my one-liner I’m gonna throw out there.  [But] it’s a really cool thing.”

Bob Dylan Is Now Saying He Has The “Highest Regard” for Merle Haggard

BOB DYLAN walked-back those comments he made about MERLE HAGGARD at the MusiCares ceremony.  You may recall he complained about Merle not liking his music, and then compared him unfavorably to BUCK OWENS.

In an interview posted on his website, Dylan said the comments were taken out of context.  Quote “I wasn’t dissing Merle, not the Merle I know.  What I was talking about happened a long time ago, maybe in the late ’60s.

“I’d seen an interview where he was going on about hippies and [me] and the counterculture, and it kind of stuck in my mind and hurt, lumping me in with everything he didn’t like.  But of course times have changed and he’s changed too.

“If hippies were around today, he’d be on their side and he himself is part of the counterculture . . . so yeah, things change.”  Dylan also brings up that they’ve toured together . . . and that he’s invited Merle to play on one of his records.

He adds, quote, “[I] have the highest regard for him, his songs, his talent.  He’s also a bit of a philosopher.  He’s serious and he’s funny.  He’s a complete man and we’re friends these days.  We have a lot in common.”

KACEY MUSGRAVES retweeted a photo of her and a fan getting silly.  It was captioned, “Best meet & greet pic ever.”  It shows Kacey holding an arrow pointed at the fan, while he’s holding two toy guns and is wearing a humongous cowboy hat.
