I like going to concerts as much as the next guy, but I’d never risk LOSING MY HOUSE to watch somebody sing and play guitar for a couple of hours. But some people have done just that to see ERIC CHURCH.
It came up last week when he was talking about things he’s thankful for. There was the usual stuff like his wife, career, and family . . . and then it got bizarre when he talked about his fans.
He said, quote, “I’m thankful for the people out there that care enough, whether they’re buying a record or buying a ticket, they may forego their mortgage payment that month. We’ve played some places this year where I’ve had people tell me that.
“We played Buffalo not too long ago and I had fans come up and say they didn’t have money to buy this ticket, ‘But we’re not gonna miss this show.'”
CARRIE UNDERWOOD has no problem performing in front of crowds, but she freaks out when she’s IN one. She discovered that as a kid while shopping on Black Friday. She says, quote, “I do not do crowds, never have.
“Mom and I would go to Walmart on some big sale or Black Friday . . . and I’d have to leave the store because I would hyperventilate and need to get out.” These days Carrie stays calm by shopping in the comfort of her own home: Quote, “I like the online shopping. I’m more of a Cyber Monday kinda girl, not so much [a] Black Friday kinda girl.”
Joe Nichols Spends Three Hours Pulling Holiday Directions Out of His Attic
When it comes to holiday decorating at my house, I drag the bins out of the attic, and then sit down with a cold one as my wife works her magic making it all look festive. Well, that’s also the division of labor at the JOE NICHOLS homestead.
He says, quote, “My wife is very, very festive, which means I climb up into the attic for about three hours and take down Christmas stuff for days and days and days. I do this for every holiday by the way. We have an attic full of holiday stuff.”
In case you missed it: GARTH BROOKS was on “Ellen” last week performing an unplugged version of his song“Mom”. It made everyone cry. (Here’s the video. Garth and his band also performed “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up)”. Here’s that link .)
TRACY LAWRENCE hosted his “9th Annual Mission Possible Turkey Fry” last week in Nashville. He worked with the Nashville Rescue Mission to fry over 500 turkeys for the less fortunate. (Full Story)
TheBoot.com has a slideshow of country star yearbook photos. Some have been out there for a while but a few are new, at least to me. There’s a very handsome GLEN CAMPBELL . . . SUNNY SWEENEY totally rocking the mall hair . . . and KEITH URBAN in serious need of some dental work.
BIG & RICH will be headlining the halftime ceremonies at this year’s Liberty Bowl. It’s going down December 29th on ESPN. (Full Story)
