Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay Posted His Own “Damn Daniel” Video
DAN SMYERS of Dan + Shay saw a pretty good opportunity to get some free publicity and jumped on it. He posted his own “Damn Daniel” video on Facebook.
It’s a silly collection of eight Vines of him doing stuff like playing banjo, drinking coffee, and singing in a recording studio while someone off-camera yells, “Damn, Daniel.” Say what you will, but it’s approaching 41,000 views.
In case you’re in the dark on this: The original “Damn Daniel” is a mashup of videos featuring some high school kid walking around in his pair of Vans, while his buddy shouts “Damn, Daniel.” It has over 45 million views. (Check it out here.)
“Ellen”even had them on her show on Tuesday. She gave a surfboard to Joshua Holz, the kid whose annoying voice helped make it unique. And the video’s star, Daniel Lara, got a lifetime supply of Vans shoes. Not bad. (Here’s that video.)
Tyler Farr’s Vocal Cord Surgery Was a Success and He’s Singing Again
“Country Weekly” has an update on TYLER FARR’s vocal cord surgery last month that forced him to cancel his tour dates with LEE BRICE. The surgery went so well that he started singing again on Monday, and his voice is better than ever.
He says, quote, “Singing [is] so much easier. My range increased on my high end five and a half notes from where it was, so not only did it get better, it got extremely better.” He’s planning to hit the road again in May.
Blake Shelton is Messing With the Westboro Baptist Church Idiots Again
BLAKE SHELTON and the Westboro Baptist Church are at it again. The church hit up Twitter announcing plans to picket his show on Friday in Kansas City, Missouri. They included a link to a lame parody they did of “Boys ‘Round Here”.
Blake was on it in a matter of minutes, and his response is pretty funny.
The CMAs are counting down to next fall’s 50th anniversary by airing a 50-part video series that showcases the five decades of moments from the show. They’re releasing one a week, but will step it up this summer. The firstepisode features Chris Young, Trace Adkins, Tanya Tucker, and Little Big Town. (ABC)
Chris Lucas and Preston Brust have finally revealed the earth shattering reason why they went from LoCash Cowboys, to just LOCASH. It happened when Preston created a logo for the band on a napkin, but he didn’t include the word cowboys. They thought the logo looked so “amazing”, they kept it. Now you know. (CMT)
SUNNY SWEENEY and BRENNEN LEIGH recorded a mildly amusing political song called “But You Like Country Music“. It suggests that liberals and conservatives can get along just fine . . . as long as they both love country music.
