Dierks Bentley Is Taking Blake Shelton’s Place as Luke Bryan’s ACMs Cohost
BLAKE SHELTON will NOT be cohosting next year’s ACMs with LUKE BRYAN. “Entertainment Tonight” released a promo video of Luke in a bar telling an off-camera bartender that he needs a new cohost for the show.
You never see the bartender, but you hear his voice as he hands Luke a beer and says, quote, “Tip that on back. I’m sure you’ll find your answer.”
Everyone is sure it’s DIERKS BENTLEY, but if you need more evidence, TasteOfCountry.com has three convincing clues . . . namely that the voice is clearly his, the dog looks like his, and that Dierks had a hit with “Tip It On Back” in 2002.
The official announcement will be posted today on ETonline.com. This would be Dierks’ first major television hosting job.
Cole Swindell Dedicated His “You Should Be Here” Video to His Late Father
The beginning of COLE SWINDELL’s video for “You Should Be Here” features him talking to his dad on the phone . . . and telling him he just signed a record deal.
It’s because his father died unexpectedly right after he signed the deal, and his death inspired to Cole to write the song. Then the video goes on to feature some of his career highlights, and footage of him visiting his family in Georgia.
It ends with him breaking down during a visit to his dad’s grave. And his real life brothers eventually join him.
(Check out the video, here.)
Cole said recently the song means more to him than all his others put together. Quote, “The moments I’ve had in the past two years there’s so many that I wish he could have been there to live ’em with me.
“But that’s the point of the song . . . those moments in life where there’s always that one person you can think of, whether you’ve lost them or just missing of them . . . we all get to spend moments where we wish that one person could be there.”
The song will be on Cole’s next album, which will be out sometime next year.
The website “Sounds Like Nashville” released their Top 10 Country Albums of 2015. Kip Moore’s “Wild Ones”was #1, followed by Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller”, and then Chris Young’s “I’m Comin’ Over” at Number Three. Check out the entire list with write-ups for each at SoundsLikeNashville.com.
Speaking of KIP MOORE: He hopes to carry on his dad’s tradition of Christmas fishing. Quote, “The one tradition we had was me and my two brothers and my dad would go fishing [for] trout and redfish . . . and me and my brothers are going to try and continue to do that.” (Delicious Audio)
CHRIS STAPLETON was one of the performers honoring GREGG ALLMAN at a special show on Friday night in Nashville. Chris performed THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND classic “Whipping Post”, and, well . . . awesome.
