This week’s “Artist To Watch” has been in the industry for quite some time. Ever heard Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer”? Yeah, he wrote that beautiful song.
Meet Chris Stapleton.
Chris has a voice unlike no other. Think blues with a country twist. He’s so good. If you’re a fan of singer-songwriters, this is your man. His much anticipated debut album was just released last week and he’s already reached super-star status being called “the biggest-baddest voice in country music,” according to Rolling Stone.
The country singer and songwriter was already well known in music circles for his work in GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass band the SteelDrivers (which he fronted from 2008 to 2010) and a rock band he founded called the Jompson Brothers. Not to mention the fact he was a writer behind such hit songs as Luke Bryan‘s “Drink a Beer,” Kenny Chesney‘s “Never Wanted Nothing More” and George Strait‘s “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright.”
His new album gave him the opportunity to put himself out there as an artist, something his fellow country artists and growing fan-base have been wanting for years.
Give him a listen. He’s the real deal, guys.
