Anna Marie Whitlock Henry, a professional flute player from Lubbock was undergoing a deep brain stimulation procedure to reduce tremors in her head and hands.
Henry has been dealing with tremors since she was a kid, and they’ve only recently gotten worse.
KHOU caught some of her in surgery concert on video.
She’s been fighting the tremors all her life and is tired of doing so.
During deep brain stimulation procedures, doctors implant electrodes in the brain to try and control tremors.
The patient must be awake during surgery, so doctors can see the effects of the electrodes.
They’re currently testing this procedure to help those battling depression.
