Vince Gill Claimed He Was the First White Guy On the Cover of “Jet” Magazine . . . But He Wasn’t
VINCE GILL and DARIUS RUCKER are super tight. Vince actually had the pleasure of inducting Darius into the Grand Ole Opry a few years ago. Well, they got together at the Opry for a Facebook Live chat.
And before they took any questions, Vince shared an interesting fact that clearly had to do with Darius’s, well, ethnicity.
He said, quote, “One of my favorite achievements that I’ve ever accomplished, is that I was the first white guy on the cover of ‘Jet‘ magazine. Me and Gladys Knight did a duet together, for some reason, and they put us on the cover.”
Darius laughed and replied, quote, “I still haven’t been on the cover.”
Luke Bryan Offered to Help an Upset Woman In the Crowd, But She Waved Him Away
Every once in a while we’ll see a concert video where the performer sees some kind of chaos in the first couple of rows, so they walk over and try to make the peace. Well, this looked like it was going that way . . . until it didn’t.
Someone shot video at LUKE BRYAN’s recent show in New Jersey of a woman furiously arguing with some guy. They appear to be together. There’s no violence but she’s waving her arms, yelling nonstop, and is clearly upset.
Luke sees it, so he goes over and says something . . . clearly trying to help. But she wants NONE of it and rudely waves him off. Twice. She totally dismisses one of the biggest stars in country music so she can get back to arguing with her guy.
I can’t imagine a better feeling for an artist than to see the whole audience singing every word of your song. SAM HUNT posted a stage-view clip of the entire crowd almost chanting “Body Like A Back Road”. It kind of gave me chills.
BLAKE SHELTON and THE OAK RIDGE BOYS released an animated video of “Doing It To Country Songs“. Each of them is drawn-up as an animal, and they’re in a band performing in a bar. Blake’s a big old buck, and I also noticed a bullfrog, a possum, a beaver, an owl, a bear, and a fox.
SARA EVANS’ new album “Words” is out tomorrow, and she’s pretty excited about a track called “Diving In Deep”. She describes it as a fun, uptempo song that makes you want to dance.
CHRIS YOUNG honored a fan who stood in the rain hoping for an autograph. He even posted a clip of the signing and captioned it, “In the pouring rain on your 18th birthday? Yeah, I’m signing that poster.”
