Loretta Lynn Injured Herself in a Fall and Missed a Show on Saturday
LORETTA LYNN fell and injured herself last week. She didn’t break any bones but she did hurt her ribs and bit her tongue in the fall. She wasn’t able to perform on Saturday at her annual Labor Day show at her ranch.
Her sister CRYSTAL GAYLE went on with the show, and Loretta’s twin daughters Peggy and Patsy also performed. No doubt everyone in the crowd understood. Loretta’s 84 years old so there’s no reason to take any chances.
The best part is that she still has her sense of humor. Crystal read a letter to the crowd that said, “I’m sorry I can’t be there with you. I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up. I injured my chest and can’t get a deep enough breath to sing.”
She’s been recuperating at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee and there’s been no update on her condition since the weekend. Her next scheduled show is this Friday in Renfro Valley, Kentucky.
You may remember last year when MIRANDA LAMBERT established the Women Creators Fund. It’s a $40,000 scholarship through Belmont University for a female majoring in songwriting, entertainment industry studies, or music business. Well, they chose their first recipient, a woman named Anna Vaus. (CMT)
KIX BROOKS delivered a $30,000 donation to flood victims in his home state of Louisiana. The money is going to the Music Rising charity and will help rebuild music programs in the area. (ABC)
