‘Nashville’ Strikes Season 5 Deal With CMT
Nashville fans are getting exactly what they’ve been hoping for. After a huge fan outcry and a very aggressive campaign online, the show has reached a deal to continue with a new season.
Variety reported Tuesday (June 7) that CMT was near striking a deal with Lionsgate, ABC Studios, and Opry Entertainment, who produce Nashville, to carry the show into Season 5 and hopefully beyond. Additionally, Entertainment Weekly reported that the deal includes a Hulu component. Hulu currently carries the show’s previous seasons. Variety points out that while the show’s ratings were too soft for a mainstream network like ABC, they’d constitute strong ratings for CMT.

Blake Shelton Engages in Hilarious Twitter Fight With Hater
Blake Shelton has never been one to back down from a fight, especially when it comes to rude internet trolls.
This past Thursday (June 9), a hater turned to Twitter to share her disdain for Shelton, also referencing his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani.
“@blakeshelton I ‘used to love you’ not so much anymore,” Twitter user Lori Baker posted. “I turn off the radio at work when any of ur songs come on. Can’t stand u anymore.”
Shelton didn’t appreciate the hate, and channeled his recent CMT Social Superstar win to retaliate.

Miranda Lambert Is Promising to Release New Music This Summer
MIRANDA LAMBERT has been working on new music ever since she moved back to Nashville . . . LAST summer. Well, somebody finally asked her straight up when we’re going to hear it, and she said it’s right around the corner.
Quote, “No one is more excited than me to show off what I’ve been doing. I’m getting really close, and hopefully by mid-summer we’ll have some new music people can hear.”
One more thing: Miranda posted a slo-mo video of the cowboy boots she wore to CMA Fest. They’re black satin with “silver strap detail spurs,” and they’re from a designer named Joyce Echols. Oh, and they cost $1,350. (Buy yours, here.)
